While rates and rights are core to what the CFU stands for, there are other key areas that need improving. Most Canadian workers consider it normal to have some sort of extended health coverage, to be able to protect their incomes in case of injury or serious illness, and to be able to save for their retirement.

For most contract media workers these “benefits” are mere pipe dreams. The CFU will use its collective clout to create affordable and functional benefit plans for its members.
